Washington Cathedral loves to encourage people to step across cultures to make friendships and to find ways to serve the community. Each TLC Group of Washington Cathedral has a "Good Samaritan" project, some involve feeding the homeless, others visiting the lonely in convalescent centers, still others work alongside migrant workers. To join a TLC Group and look into their Good Samaritan projects, contact: TLC's@wacathedral.org
If you are already part of a TLC and would like to become further involved in cross-cultural ministry, here are some more opportunities:
1. Short-term Work Trips: Throughout the year, Washington Cathedral partners with "Together for Transformation" to take teams to Honduras to serve the poor and learn about God's heart for social justice. The purpose of these trips is to empower participants to become "Kingdom Christians" - those who continuously plug in to what God is doing around the world.
In 2010 we have an adult trip scheduled March 20th - 27th and a youth team scheduled for June 25th - July 3rd. Download an application for the Adult Trip here and email it to Christie or Colleen, or turn it into the church office.
For information on the adult trip, contact Christie Hettich: hettich7@comcast.net or Colleen McCary: collmccar3@gmail.com
For information on the youth trip, contact Jackie White: jackie.white@wacathedral.org
2. Bilingual Spanish/English "Esperanza" service. More and more spanish-speaking people are moving to the Redmond-Woodinville-Kirkland area, without a spanish-speaking church for them to worship in! The bilingual Esperanza Service is one or our attempts to meet the spiritual needs of our community. Come check it out if you would like to serve! Sundays at 11:00 am in Spirit Falls Sanctuary.
3. Your ministry idea! If you have an idea for a cross-cultural ministry, please contact Pastor Jackie.
