| General description for weddings, funerals and baptisms. |
| | | Wedding | Washington Cathedral's sanctuary is the perfect site for a beautiful and memorable wedding ceremony. The openness of the glass sanctuary and the inspiring high mountain waterfall backdrop will enhance any wedding ceremony. Weddings are generally conducted Friday Evenings and should be scheduled well in advance. Rehearsals are conducted Thurdsay evenings. A number of options are available in arranging Pastors from either our church or another church to conduct the ceremony. Our Pastors can perform weddings at locations of your choosing. Pre-marital counseling is available and is a requirement for weddings conducted by our Pastors. For more information, contact Rhonda Jones at 425-284-4605 or rhonda.jones@wacathedral.org. Washington Cathedral does not currently have facilities for hosting wedding receptions. | 2 | | | | Floral Cross | We believe in "celebrating the lives" of those for whom the Memorial Services are conducted. Grief is one of the strongest human emotions and our pastoral staff is here in a gentle loving manner to help ease the pain. We provide a variety of services in this time of need for our congregation and community at large. We do everything possible to honor the family's desired date for the service. Special music can be arranged with our soloists, or other musicans of your choice. Power Point picture presentations of the person's life may be shown during the service and should to be coordinated with the presiding pastor. Pastors are available to meet to counsel and comfort the family and assist in arranging the Memorial Service. Baptsim services are routinely scheduled every 12 weeks, but personal requests for baptism at other times may be honored. Normally, baptism services are held at 2pm Sunday and followed by a reception of celebration. When a person accepts God's free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, they can make a physical statement by being baptized. We conduct immersion baptisms in our waterfall, weather and temperature permitting, and in a heated outdoor baptismal. Infants and most small children have no need of baptism because in their innocence, they have no sin to repent. The Lord, when asked "Who will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" responded by picking up a small child and declaring that unless one repents and becomes as a child, we couldn't possibly enter the kingdom of God. We traditionally dedicate the precious new borns, infants and small children at the Saturday evening 6:00 pm service. Family and friends are encouraged to attend these very special services.
