 Dear Friends:

Jackie and I are very excited about what is happening in our church.  Every day is a new adventure in seeing how God is going to use another one of our ministries to bless this community and this world.  As we writTim and Jackiee this letter to you, our daughter, Elise, her husband, Rey, and our grandson, Elijah, are preparing to set out on the adventure of their life.  Answering God’s call they are going to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to attempt the impossible – help children who have no hope to find hope again.  Without the support of their church, financially, spiritually and emotionally, they would not be able to set out on this great adventure.

We share this with you because we have an adventure of our own right here that seems small in comparison to the one the Diaz family is on.  Our adventure is to complete the building of our ReCreation Center.  In March of 2005 we set out to raise cash and pledges of $10 million.  Our congregation rallied and sacrificially gave helping us achieve $7 million in pledges.  We tried to make major cut backs on the building so that we would stay within that budget.  We secured financing and moved ahead.

Now as we are coming to the end of this project and looking forward to moving in at the end of October, 2008, we find ourselves in a position of needing to go back to our original plan.  Some of the cuts we could not do and still be in line with the building requirements, prices of materials have gone up from the original bids, basically we need to raise the other $3 million in order to complete this project and be given occupancy permits.

God has done some pretty amazing things already on this project.  Bruce Blake has donated all of his time to manage this project.  Without Bruce we would be telling you we need a lot more money.  He has done a great job of keeping the cost down.  Mike Roth has donated time, equipment and even finds materials that other projects are throwing away that we desperately need to  keep some of our costs down.  Our contractor is working hard to find  ways to save us money every step of the way.  Doing much of the work themselves that they would normally subcontract out at a higher cost to us.

The tough part of our challenge is that we need to have $2 million by April 25 this year and the other $1 million by April 25, 2009.  The exciting part of that challenge is that we have an opportunity to see God work beyond what any of us can imagine.

Please join us in praying for God’s great provision in moving us forward on our quest.  We ask everyone to pray about what part they might be able to play.  We also ask that if you do not feel excited about donating to this project, please don’t.  I have said time and time again, that this building project will be successful if we have people who can happily say I really didn’t want to contribute to that building but I support all of you who feel that call from God.

This project is for those of us who feel called by God.  We appreciate the prayers and emotional support from everyone who can help and from those whose continued friendship is also a great blessing. Together we will see God work a miracle.  Together we will tackle this great challenge.

God Bless You and Your Family.

Your friends for the rest of our lives,

Tim & Jackie White
